Forty-seven couples renewed their vows Saturday at a group ceremony in the Rose Garden at Lynch Park in Beverly. City Clerk Fran Macdonald, who is also a justice of the peace, performed the ceremonies.

Allison and Sean Faeth of Somerville represented the shortest union - two years - while the Stewarts of Beverly, Dottie, 87, and Frank, 88, celebrated 65 years together.

Asked how she did it, Dottie replied: "One day at a time."

Beverly Mayor Bill Scanlon and his wife, Louise, also participated in the ceremony.
