A Lynn man was ordered held on $100,000 bail yesterday after he allegedly shot two men early Thanksgiving morning in East Boston, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in a statement.

Holvin G. Cruz, 32, was charged with four counts of assault with intent to murder, four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, and failure to stop for police. East Boston District Court Judge Ernest L. Sarason ordered Cruz to return to court on Jan. 7.

Boston police responded to a call about shots fired at Prescott and Bremen streets about 2:15 a.m. Thursday and found a 20-year-old with serious injuries and a 35-year-old with life-threatening injures, police and Conley said. Two others had minor injuries from flying glass and debris, one of whom refused medical treatment, Conley said.

Authorities transported the other three victims to Massachusetts General Hospital, police said. There was no update on their conditions.

Police learned the gunman had left the scene in a gold Honda Accord, and found a car matching that description on Chelsea Street, headed toward Maverick Square in East Boston, Conley and police said.

When police pursued the car, the driver allegedly ignored the officers' lights, sirens, and orders to stop the car. After a brief chase, the driver pulled over on Sumner Street, Conley said.

Evidence suggests that the Accord was fleeing the scene of the shooting, where a man approached a group of people and opened fire, Conley said.

Officers found several rounds of ammunition in the car and smelled gunpowder, Conley said.

Police returned to the scene with Cruz, where witnesses identified him as the shooter.

A spokesman for the district attorney declined to comment about a possible motive for the shooting. Neither Cruz nor his attorney, William Keefe, could be reached for comment.
