BOSTON
Two men were arrested in a shooting in downtown Boston early Sunday morning by police officers patrolling in the area, according to the Police Department. At 2:04 a.m., two officers in the area of Cambridge Street heard several gunshots coming from the intersection with Bowdoin Street. When the officers arrived, they found a male on the ground with a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers saw two men fleeing the scene, police said, and after a chase, they arrested Raymond Harris, 23, of Quincy, and Jack Ford, 23, of Boston. The suspects were charged with assault with intent to murder and unlawful possession of a firearm. The victim, whom police declined to identify, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening.

Woman dies after being pulled from pool
A 33-year-old Dorchester woman died yesterday after she was found unresponsive in the deep end of a swimming pool at a residential building in Jamaica Plain, police said. The woman, whose name police did not release, apparently worked for someone at the building. It was not clear what she was doing in the pool or whether foul play was involved, police said. Residents of the building on Perkins Street found the woman shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday and called 911. The woman was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital. She was pronounced dead yesterday morning.

Man dies in crash after chase by wife
Police say they have no reason to believe that a high-speed crash into a building that killed a Boston man was caused by his wife, who was driving behind him after the two had an argument. Boston police spokesman Eddy Chrispin said yesterday that the accident remains under investigation. Ramon Medina, 30, died Sunday after crashing into an apartment building in Jamaica Plain. His wife, whom police did not identify, told authorities that she had had an argument with Medina earlier in the evening and had left with a friend. She told police she later saw Medina speeding in front of her. She said she lost sight of the car before she came upon the vehicle after the accident.

Man cited in hit-and-run that injured boy
A 10-year-old riding his bike was injured yesterday evening in a hit-and-run in Dorchester, police said. The boy was hit at Tebroc and Levant streets at 5:48 p.m., said Officer Eddy Chrispin, spokesman for Boston police. The alleged driver was later found by officers after a witness described a partial license plate number. He was issued a misdemeanor citation for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury, Chrispin said. The boy was listed in good condition last night at Boston Medical Center, said hospital spokeswoman Maria Pantages.
