BELMONT - The oaks were once so majestic that tourists came by trolley and rail to gaze at the grove. More than a century ago, these nearly two dozen ancient trees in Belmont's Waverley section inspired the creation of the world's first regional land trust. Now only one remains, in a vale on the Beaver Brook Reservation. (Full article: 795 words)
