Man killed in lightning strike on Cape Cod

A man was killed this evening by a lightning strike while boating on Little Pleasant Bay in Orleans, Captain Chip Burge of the Orleans Fire Department said.
The Fire Department received a boat rescue call around 5:35 p.m., and found the unidentified man dead and alone in his clamming boat, just east of Sipson Island, Burge said. The call was made by a 66-year-old man on a nearby boat, who had unknown non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, Burge said.
The incident is under invesitgation by the State Police and and medical examiners, according to Burge.
