Man accused of pulling gun in Wisconsin
A Gloucester man was arrested Friday after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman while impersonating a peace officer Wednesday in Madison, Wis., Lieutenant David McCaw of Madison police said. Trevor L. Lucas, 21, recently had a dispute with the woman’s 17-year-old son over an online game. Lucas also asked the son to send him naked pictures in 2008, but no charges were filed, McCaw said. Lucas allegedly drove to Madison and knocked on the family’s door shortly before 9 p.m., claiming he was from “national security,’’ and demanding to see the woman’s son, McCaw said. She called police. Lucas retrieved a firearm from his car and pointed it at the woman, who slammed the door, McCaw said. Lucas then fled to Massachusetts, where State Police arrested him on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Weston about 4:40 p.m. Friday. (AP)FOXBOROUGH
New center for abused children set
Child advocates are preparing a home where children can go for help after they are sexually assaulted or physically abused. The 5,000-square-foot house set to open in Foxborough in October is one of 11 child advocacy centers in Massachusetts and about 700 across the country. At the treatment centers, police, medical, and mental health professionals meet to try to ease the emotional stress for abused children. Instead of having to endure five or six interviews, children are interviewed once in a homelike setting. (AP)SANDWICH
