CLINTON - Police are searching for a Fitchburg State College senior with addresses in Fitchburg and Maryland after discovering the body of his former girlfriend yesterday morning.

Alex Skowran, 22, is being sought by police in connection with the death of Giselle Rodriguez, 23, whose body was found in her apartment at One Coolidge Place in Clinton.

The cause or time of her death was not disclosed by Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. at a press conference yesterday at the Clinton police station. Early said a relative called Clinton police shortly before 11 a.m. yesterday and asked officers to check on Rodriguez.

Skowran is believed to be driving a 2003 black Honda Civic with a Maryland license plate of 8DXX66. He has a Bemis Road address in Fitchburg.

Fitchburg State officials were informed by police late yesterday morning about the homicide, a college spokesman said.

Skowran and Rodriguez, who also previously attended the college, had dated on and off, Early said.

In July, Skowran was placed on one year’s probation, including a no-contact, stay away order, and required to attend an anger management course. The sentence stemmed from a March incident when he broke into her apartment and poured bleach on her clothes, and he was charged with vandalism and breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony.

Rodriguez had obtained a three-day emergency restraining order at the time of the break-in but Early said she did not follow up on that order. The no-contact order was put in place by Clinton District Court.
