A location manager for “The Social Network,’’ a biopic on the Facebook founders, starring Justin Timberlake, says scenes will be shot at the Thirsty Scholar Pub on Beacon Street next week, but the pop icon will not be there.

“I don’t need the hassle,’’ said location head Bill Doyle. “I don’t have the manpower [for Timberlake fans].’’

Doyle said network costar Jesse Eisenberg - whose credits include “Zombieland,’’ “Adventureland,’’ and “The Squid and the Whale’’ - will film scenes at the pub Oct. 21 and 22, but Timberlake will shoot in Los Angeles.

All told, “Network’’ will film for about 10 days in the Boston area. Doyle declined to name the other locations.

Three movies stars have swept through Somerville in recent weeks. Ben Affleck recently shot scenes for his upcoming film “The Town’’ at Somerville Hospital. Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise filmed scenes for a movie tentatively titled “Wichita’’ in East Somerville three weeks ago.
