WORCESTER, Mass.—A Massachusetts woman is headed to court to answer allegations that she stole $225,000 from the Boy Scouts.
Cheryl Allen of Millbury is scheduled to be arraigned on three counts of larceny over $250 by a single scheme and one count of larceny over $250 in Worcester Superior Court on Monday.
Prosecutors say the 44-year-old Allen performed bookkeeping services for the Mohegan Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the organization's governing body in central Massachusetts.
Authorities say that between December 2006 and March, Allen forged checks to a business with which she was affiliated.
A Boy Scout official said the organization was "deeply saddened" by the allegations.
A number for Allen could not immediately be located.![]()
