BOSTON—A psychiatrist stabbed by one of her patients at her Boston office last month has returned home.

Dr. Astrid Desrosiers (deh-ROH'-zhurs) was released from Massachusetts General Hospital late Monday morning. Broadcast video showed her being pushed to a car in a wheelchair, then gingerly getting out of the wheelchair and into the car. Both hands were still bandaged.

She later walked into her Belmont home under her own power.

Authorities say Desrosiers was stabbed multiple times by 37-year-old Jay Carciero (car-see-EH'-roh) on Oct. 27. Carciero was shot and killed by off-duty security guard Paul Langone (lan-GOHN'), who was in the medical office building at the time.

Desrosiers' husband, Claude, told reporters that his wife was concerned about her patients and eager to get back to work.
