Hub fourth- and eighth-graders best peers on national math exam
But results do little to close the achievement gap
Results from a national mathematics test show that Boston fourth- and eighth-graders scored better than their peers in most large cities, but Boston has failed to narrow an achievement gap between students of different racial and ethnic backgrounds, according to a report released yesterday by the US Department of Education.
