ARLINGTON, Vt.—A truck carrying propane gas has crashed on a snow-covered Vermont road. No one has been injured.
The truck leaked oil and transmission fluid. But there was no report of any escape of propane, an explosive gas often used in barbecues and home heating systems.
The state Department of Public Safety says the driver in Monday evening's crash lost control of the truck on a slippery road in Arlington, a town of about 2,500 residents between the Green and Taconic mountain ranges.
The truck slid sideways about 50 feet before hitting an embankment and flipping onto its side. It was damaged on its passenger side.
The driver is from North Adams, Mass. Police say there won't be any charges against him in the accident, which occurred a few hundred yards from people's homes.![]()
