BOSTON—Massachusetts Democratic Party Chairman John Walsh is resting comfortably after suffering a mild heart attack over the weekend.

Party executive director Stacey Monahan said Walsh was doing fine after undergoing a series of medical tests. She said doctors at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth believed Walsh experienced a mild heart attack.

Walsh served as Gov. Deval Patrick's campaign manager before taking the reins of the state party.

Monahan said Walsh is expected to be back at work in a few days.
