FALMOUTH, Mass.—Norfolk District Attorney William Keating is used to prosecuting criminal suspects. On Sunday, he said he helped catch one.

The candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 10th Congressional District said he joined other diners at a Falmouth restaurant chasing a man suspected of stealing a handbag.

Keating and about 20 others pursued the suspect through the Cape Cod town and cornered him in a back yard until police arrived and arrested him.

Police identified the suspect as Christopher M. Jones of Falmouth. He was arrested on charges of larceny from a person and possession of controlled substances, clonazepam and amlodipine. Bail was set at $1,540.
