TAUNTON, Mass.—Former President Bill Clinton is urging Massachusetts voters to re-elect Rep. Barney Frank and vote other Democrats into office.

As Clinton spoke Sunday at the Taunton High School, about 250 supporters of Frank's Republican opponent, Sean Bielat (BEE'-ah-lot), gathered at the Taunton Green to rally for Frank's defeat.

Bielat says Clinton's visit shows that Frank is vulnerable.

Frank says he is doing what politicians running for office are expected to do, namely campaigning effectively.

Clinton also attended a fundraiser for Steve Grossman, a candidate for Massachusetts treasurer. Clinton told an overflow crowd at a Boston hotel that Grossman has a record of "bringing financial controls and transparency."

Grossman had served as chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 1997 to 1999, while Clinton was president.
