The Supreme Judicial Court has rejected a request to review the case of a former Coast Guardsman convicted of raping his former girlfriend, the Cape and Islands district attorney said yesterday. David Pierce of Sandwich was sentenced to three to four years in prison after he was convicted of four counts of rape. Pierce’s former girlfriend said he raped her in 2005 while they were living together in Yarmouth. His attorney said the sex was consensual. At the time of his arrest in 2006, Pierce was a master chief petty officer with 20 years’ service. A judge had stayed Pierce’s sentence pending appeal. Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe said his office has moved for Pierce to begin serving his sentence.
