Grossman to put state checkbook online

As one of his first acts as state treasurer, Steve Grossman, the former head of the Democratic National Committee, has said he will post the state’s checkbook online. Grossman says he hopes to have the user-friendly website up and running by July. Grossman said he’s also ready to make good on a second campaign pledge to move some state dollars into smaller community banks and credit unions to help spur lending to small businesses to help jump-start hiring.
