FALL RIVER, Mass.—A Massachusetts state trooper has been struck by a car and slightly injured as he helped a driver involved in a one-car accident in Fall River.
State police Sgt. Matthew Murray tells WPRI-TV that the officer was treated and released at Charlton Memorial Hospital after being struck on Route 24 near the Route 79 on-ramp at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Murray said the car whose driver he was helping also was struck, but no one else was injured.
Murray said the driver who struck the trooper was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle.![]()
