Accused in beating autistic, father says

The father of a Southborough man accused of banging his mother’s head on a driveway says his son is severely autistic and does not understand what he did. On Monday, a judge ordered Adam Koumoutseas. 23, held in a mental health facility on $20,000 bail and to undergo an evaluation to determine whether he is competent to stand trial. Koumoutseas was arrested Saturday and charged with assault and battery and other offenses in head butting his mother and banging her head on a driveway. She remains hospitalized.
