BOSTON
An on-duty Boston police officer was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital yesterday morning for non-life-threatening injuries after her motorcycle hit a parked truck in Roxbury, officials said. The officer was passing cars on Dudley Street around noon yesterday in order to reach an intersection and block it off for a funeral procession, Boston police spokesman Eddy Chrispin said. The truck driver had pulled over to allow the funeral procession to pass when the officer hit his vehicle, but he was not injured. Passing cars in this manner is standard procedure for the mobile operations patrol unit during a funeral escort, Chrispin said. Officials said they could not release the officer’s name because she was a victim. ![]()
