About 100 people from several local organizations came together on Harrison Avenue in Chinatown yesterday afternoon to kick off the national YWCA’s Stand Against Racism Day. The event was geared toward mobilizing youths in the cause of equality, according to Global Potential, which organized the event. City Councilor Tito Jackson and youth organizations such as the Student Immigration Movement and Youth Action Africa participated. On Friday, hundreds of people gathered on the Summer and Congress street bridges in downtown Boston to form a human chain for the same cause.![]()
