BOSTON
Any parent, caretaker, or legal guardian of a minor child with knowledge of the death of that child who fails to notify authorities within 24 hours would face up to five years in prison under a proposal announced yesterday. The bill is prompted by the recent acquittal of Casey Anthony, who had been charged in Florida in connection with the death of her daughter. State Representative David Linsky, Democrat of Natick and the bill’s sponsor, said the case “exposed a large flaw in our judicial system,’’ adding that “not reporting the death of a child should be a prosecutable offense.’’![]()
