Man shot in Roxbury expected to survive

A man was shot in the buttocks late last night at the intersection of Alpine and Akron streets in Roxbury, Boston police said. The victim, a man in his late teens or early 20s whose name was not released, was taken to Boston Medical Center, said Deputy Police Superintendent William Gross. The victim’s injuries were considered serious, but not believed to be life-threatening. Police had no description of a suspect, and it is unknown whether the violence was gang-related.
