A federal judge has increased the monetary award to a woman who sued the town of Dennis and a public golf course that barred her from playing in a tournament, court records show. A federal jury awarded $15,000 in damages to Elaine Joyce, 46, in March. In a court filing dated yesterday, a judge increased the total award to just over $55,000, factoring in attorney’s fees and other costs. Joyce had sued the town and the Dennis Pines golf course for barring her from a May 2007 tournament, which she had hoped to play with her father.
