A man was arraigned on several charges Wednesday, including a failed carjacking, identity fraud, and shooting a man in his 70s, prosecutors said yesterday. Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office said that Charles N. Diorio, 49, shot the 74-year-old manager of his rooming house during an altercation July 2 and later fired a round outside the building during an attempted carjacking. A woman also told Chelsea police that night that a man matching Diorio’s description pointed a gun at her earlier. Diorio pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Chelsea District Court to charges that included armed assault with intent to murder and failure to register as a sex offender.
