Boaters discover man’s body in pond

The body of a young man was pulled from a pond in Mashpee yesterday, a fire official said. A couple in a boat on Johns Pond off Crow Road discovered the body around 4:30 p.m., according to Mashpee Fire Captain Joe Fellows. They dragged the body back to shore, tied it to the dock, and called the Fire Department, he said. Further information about the man’s identity and the circumstances of his death was not available last night.
