SOMERSET
A 68-year-old Somerset woman died yesterday morning, hours after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday night in front of a liquor store. The woman, whose name was not released, was trying to cross Route 6 near Somerset Liquors at 8:53 p.m. when she was struck, Somerset police said. Several hours later, a 30-year-old Swansea woman went to police after she saw news about the accident on television and thought police were looking for her Lexus sport utility vehicle. The woman said she thought she had struck an animal. The driver, also not identified by name, may face charges.![]()
