FRAMINGHAM
A man who stumbled into the path of a police cruiser early yesterday morning was in critical condition after sustaining a head injury, according to police. A witness said the man, who was possibly intoxicated, stumbled into the road near 395 Waverly St. about 12:49 a.m., said Framingham Police Lieutenant Ronald Brandolini. The man, whose name and age are not being released, was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Brandolini said. The cruiser was responding to a non-emergency call, and its siren and police lights were off, Brandolini said. The incident is under investigation, but Brandolini said it doesn’t appear that the officer driving the cruiser did anything wrong.![]()
