Death of grandmother ruled a homicide

The death of a woman found in her South Boston home on Saturday morning has been ruled a homicide, Boston police said yesterday. The 65-year-old victim, Barbara Tagen, was a grandmother and a retiree, according to residents in her apartment building. Tagen was found in her residence at 385 Dorchester St., where she was pronounced dead from trauma, police said. A neighbor said Tagen’s daughter became alarmed after she had not heard from her mother for days.
