Governor Deval Patrick is leaving town again, this time to speak at a conference in California featuring both Arianna Huffington, the political provocateur, and Michael Milken, the famed junk bond kingpin turned philanthropist.

Patrick will leave today for Laguna Beach where he will attend the Black Corporate Directors Conference, returning tomorrow night, according to his staff.

He has spent all or part of more than 60 days outside of Massachusetts this year, representing the state on trade missions or on Capitol Hill, as well as vacationing and promoting his book and campaigning for Democratic causes.

The governor is also preparing to serve as a surrogate speaker for President Obama’s reelection campaign.

In California, Patrick is scheduled to deliver a speech called: “the conscience of the conference with Deval Patrick,’’ following a session called: “fireside chat with Mike Milken.’’

Huffington is scheduled to speak earlier in the day with Meg Whitman, the former eBay chief executive and Republican candidate for California governor.

Whitman previously worked for Patrick’s predecessor, Mitt Romney.

Patrick’s spokesman said the governor’s travel expenses will be paid by conference organizers.
