Six-year-old girl dies in turnpike crash

A 6-year-old girl was killed and three other people sustained minor injuries yesterday in a crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Auburn, State Police said. Lodia Rodriguez, 25, of Worcester, was driving a 2000 Chrysler Town and Country when the minivan made contact with a box truck, State Police said. Her car then struck a guardrail, ejecting the 6-year-old girl, State Police said. Rodriguez and two 4-year-old girls also in the minivan were taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with minor injuries. John Gurr, 32, of New Britain, Conn., driver of the truck, was not injured.
