All nine residents of a Dorchester apartment building were displaced yesterday morning by a fire that officials believe to be arson. At 4:51 a.m., firefighters responded to Devon Street, where they quickly put out the fire, said fire spokesman Steve MacDonald, who added that “fire investigators determined that this is an arson.’’ Even with the quick response, the one-alarm fire caused $200,000 of damage to the 2 1/2-story wood building, MacDonald said. The Red Cross was on the scene to help six adults and three children find shelter, MacDonald said. No serious injuries were reported, but a firefighter was taken to the hospital with a back injury, and a neighbor, walking barefoot, was treated after stepping on glass, MacDonald said.
