A cranberry harvest in Carver will make an appearance on a postage stamp in October 2012. The picture will be one of 15 used in the Earthscapes stamp set, said Mark Saunders, a spokesman for the US Postal Service. The set features three categories of photos - natural, agricultural, and urban - from around the country. All of the pictures are aerial shots, some from planes and helicopters, others from satellites. Steve Dunwell, a professional photographer in Boston for more than 40 years, snapped the picture of workers knee-deep in the berries in a bog from a helicopter in September 1992. The stamps can be seen at facebook.com/USPSStamps.
