FITCHBURG
A pilot was arrested at Fitchburg Municipal Airport yesterday after authorities found bags containing 74 pounds of marijuana, worth $370,00, and more than $77,000 in cash in his plane, according to State Police spokesman David Procopio. Hoang Nguyen, 31, of Hillsboro, Ore., drew suspicion from customs agents in Santa Monica, Calif., and his plane was tracked to Fitchburg, Procopio said. When Nguyen’s plane landed, troopers were waiting to check the aircraft. Nguyen was charged with trafficking marijuana and is expected to be arraigned today in Fitchburg District Court, Procopio said.![]()
