A Cape Cod author who contended that he was charged with possessing illegal firearms because he criticized prosecutors in a high-profile homicide case has won a bid to seal his record after the charges were dropped. In his 2011 book “Reasonable Doubt,’’ Peter Manso criticized Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe’s investigation of the 2002 slaying of fashion writer Christa Worthington. The Cape Cod Times reported that the charges against Manso were dismissed last year and that a judge agreed last week to seal records listing him as an “indicted felon.’’ Manso said the open record hampered his ability to get some press credentials.
