BOSTON
A condemned East Boston building collapsed Friday night, potentially endangering other homes in the area, fire officials said. Authorities were called to 47 Chelsea St. about 11 p.m. and found debris scattered to the street. The vacant brick building, which the city said had been condemned six months ago, was on Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s Problem Property Task Force list and was marked for demolition. Heavy equipment was being brought in yesterday to start removing the debris and the rest of the building.![]()
