Out-of-state donations filling Warren’s coffers
Democratic leaders in the US Senate are speaking with their money in the Massachusetts primary, stating clearly that they prefer consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren to be the party’s candidate against Republican Senator Scott Brown next year. The Senate’s top two Democrats, Senate majority leader Harry Reid of Nevada and majority whip Dick Durbin of Illinois, have each donated $5,000 to Warren’s campaign through the leadership political action committees the senators control, according to campaign filings.
