LEWISTON, Maine—Police in Maine's second-largest city say an assailant who shot a Massachusetts man in the abdomen remains at large.

Lewiston police say the assailant fired three times at 21-year-old Kenneth Sales of Boston on Saturday night. Lt. Mark Cornelio says police have no suspects.

The Sun Journal quotes neighbors (http://bit.ly/tocZ2x) as hearing gunshots, and reported that police removed a bullet from living room window frame from an apartment.

Police said Sales was targeted as he walked down the street. Emergency medical technicians found him collapsed on steps a half-block away. Police say his injuries were not life-threatening, but hospital officials declined to discuss his condition.
