CHICOPEE, Mass.—Michael Bissonnette has won a fourth term as Chicopee mayor after defeating restaurant owner Gary Lefebvre.
Bissonnette declared victory over his opponent, telling supporters Tuesday night that he got 62 percent of the vote.
Bissonnette was first elected mayor in 2005.
The Republican newspaper ( http://bit.ly/vxbX92) reports that the mayor promised a fresh start, saying he will work harder to get along with the city council after a long year of frequent fighting.
All of the incumbent city councilors and the city clerk were returned to office.![]()
