If it wasn’t for those annoying bleeding-heart kumbaya types, the titans of the bottled water industry would be loving life right now. But the do-gooders keep bugging legislators to expand the state’s bottle bill won’t leave them alone. This year they are more hopeful than usual that such a bill will pass, and that, as a result, billions of bottles may be kept out of landfills. But the bottled water forces are mobilizing too, and the legislature seems as usual to be buying their preposterous claims.
