WELLFLEET, Mass.—Authorities say a 70-year-old Wellfleet man has been flown to a Boston hospital after being injured by a falling tree at his home.
Fire department officials tell the Cape Cod Times (http://bit.ly/uKQ9wX) the man was cutting a roughly 40-foot-high tree on Sunday when it fell onto his house.
The man, working on getting the tree off the house, was then seriously injured when the tree snapped and landed on his lower body around 1 p.m.
His name was not made public.
Friends were able to lift the tree off him by the time rescue crews arrived.
The man was conscious but had suffered serious injuries that were not considered life threatening.
