Senate Majority Leader Fredrick Berry planned to announce last night at a charity event that he does not intend to seek re-election in 2012, ending what will be 30-year career in the state Senate, according to one of his Senate colleagues. The Peabody Democrat plans to declare his plans at a Thanksgiving charity event he is hosting at the Peabody Marriott for the Fred Berry Charitable Fund. the news.
