A power cord was found around the neck of a woman apparently killed inside her Mattapan apartment Monday, according to two law enforcement officials with knowledge of the investigation. The woman’s 16-year-old daughter discovered her body when she returned home from school that day. Police identified the victim as a 34-year-old immigrant from the Dominican Republic who also has 1-year-old son. The toddler was also found inside the apartment and was not hurt.
