Andover police investigate sports hazing report
ANDOVER, Mass.—Police are investigating allegations of bullying and hazing involving a sports team at Andover High School.
Superintendent Marinel McGrath said in a posting on the school's website this week that a full investigation started as soon as the allegations became known to school administrators.
McGrath says the investigation is nearly complete.
School Committee Chairwoman Annie Gilbert tells The Eagle-Tribune (http://bit.ly/v1lXDD) that the school's top priority is to ensure the safety of the students.
Authorities are not disclosing which team is involved and are not giving details of the accusations.
Police had no comment.
