Federal prosecutors notified a judge today that they will seek additional charges against James “Whitey” Bulger’s girlfriend, Catherine Greig, within the next few weeks, but have yet to decide where – raising the possibility that it could be in Boston or California. Greig, who is currently facing a charge of conspiracy to harbor a fugitive in federal court in Boston for allegedly helping Bulger to evade capture for more than 16 years, was recently notified by the government that she will face additional charges “and the parties are in discussions as to the forum in which those charges will be brought,” the US Attorney’s office wrote in a status report filed in court. The issue should be resolved within the next few weeks, then charges will be brought, prosecutors wrote.
