Bulger girlfriend may stand trial in California

The attorney for James “Whitey” Bulger girlfriend Catherine Greig said today he may push to have her tried in California if federal prosecutors bring new charges related to the 13 years Greig lived with Bulger in a rent-controlled apartment in the beachside community of Santa Monica. Kevin J. Reddington spoke following a brief status hearing in US District Court in Boston where Greig is currently charged only with conspiracy to harbor a fugitive, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
