NORTHAMPTON, Mass.—Police in western Massachusetts say a car has crashed into a 258-year-old house in Northampton, slightly injuring the vehicle's driver and causing major damage to the historic building.
The collision occurred early Sunday at the Daughters of the American Revolution House, built in 1753 and considered one of the area's oldest homes.
Northampton police Lt. Jody Casper tells 22News ( http://bit.ly/vvj7VR) that the car's 21-year-old driver went through a fence and into the home's living room.
Authorities say two people were inside the house, but neither was injured. A minor fire caused by the crash was quickly extinguished.
The crash remained under investigation later Sunday and no charges had been filed.![]()
