A 58-year-old South Boston man wanted for allegedly robbing a bank in Hingham on Dec. 3 turned himself in to police Saturday night, Hingham Police said. “This is the first that I recall of someone turning themselves in,’’ said Sergeant Steven Dearth of the Hingham Police Department. “This is what we prefer.’’ James Thomas Callahan was dropped off by an unknown driver at Hingham Police station around 10 p.m. He then walked into the lobby and surrendered to police, authorities said.
