Mass. Statehouse marks Hanukkah menorah lighting
BOSTON—In another sign of the holiday season on Beacon Hill, Massachusetts political leaders are set to participate in an annual Hanukkah menorah lighting at the Statehouse.
Gov. Deval Patrick is expected to join other top political figures including House Speaker Robert DeLeo and Senate President Therese Murray for the Tuesday event.
Secretary of State William Galvin, Attorney General Martha Coakley, Treasurer Steve Grossman and Auditor Suzanne Bump are also expected to attend. The lighting is scheduled to take place in Nurses Hall at the Statehouse.
Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray is planning to attend another menorah lighting in his hometown of Worcester on the same day.
Patrick and others took part in the Statehouse's annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony last week.
