Northampton family greeted by armed intruder
NORTHAMPTON, Mass.—A Northampton family came home from the movies on Christmas night to find an armed intruder in their home.
Police say they arrested 48-year-old Nancy Gehrung on Monday and charged her in connection with the break-in just after 8 p.m. Sunday.
She is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on charges including armed assault and larceny.
A resident of the home tells the Daily Hampshire Gazette (http://bit.ly/sINtoj) the family returned home and saw the armed woman standing behind the Christmas tree. The woman pointed the gun at one member of the family and ran out the door.
A resident of the home says the woman got away with a gym bag, shoe polish, gorilla mask and $100 bill.
Police found a vehicle owned by Gehrung's parents near the scene.
